Professor Brian Glyn Williams (UMass-Darmouth) will present a introductory lecture of Afghanistan: Its History and People on Sunday, Nov. 14, at 3 pm. The presentation will be held at the Waquoit Congregational Church, 15 Parsons Lane, Waquoit.
Williams is the author of seven books, including the best selling book, The Last Warlord: The Life and Legend of Dostum, the Afghan Warrior Who Led US Special Forces to Topple the Taliban Regime. He based The Last Warlord on his summers spent living in Northern Afghanistan.
Everyone who attends the lecture will receive a free copy of Williams’ book.
The presentation is free and opened to the public, and is being offered by Neighborhood Support Team – Cape Cod, a group that has been working with relief agencies to resettle Afghan families in Falmouth. Donations gladly accepted.
