A Christmas Carol with Neil McGarry – Friday, Dec. 10, 7 pm
Get your tickets now for this holiday masterpiece – Neil McGarry in his award-winning solo performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The play will be held Friday, Dec. 10, 7 pm at the Waquoit Congregational Church as a benefit for the Jeff Johnsen Recovery Fund. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at woodsholetheater.org. Seating is limited.
There will be a reception in parish hall hall prior to the event, 5:30-6:30 pm.
McGarry was raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts as the seventh child in a large and loving family of ten children. He is the brother of the multi Grammy nominated Jazz singer, Kate McGarry. Neil began his career in the summer of 1980 as an apprentice at the Cape Cod Melody Tent and continued his training at the National Shakespeare Conservatory.
He spent 10 years as a company member of the Publick Theatre, Boston under Artistic Director, Spiro Veloudos and has worked across the United States as an actor. Neil has a special love for Shakespeare and has performed in 24 of the 37 Shakespeare plays. He founded the award winning Bay Colony Shakespeare Company in 2012 and was Artistic Director until moving to Italy in 2016. For the last three years he has worked almost exclusively in Europe, recently dubbing famed Mountaineer, Hans Kammerlander, for the English international release of Manaslu – Der Berg Seelen, as well as completing work on Roberto Faenza’s new film Resilient with Laura Haddock, Eliza Lasowski, and Edward Holcroft. In May 2021, he began shooting the film Sisters in Riga, Latvia. McGarry recently signed with Cifarelli Talent Consultants in Berlin, Germany.
