Blue Christmas Service – Wednesday, Dec. 15, 6 pm

For anyone who has lost a loved one, the holidays – especially Christmas – can be difficult. For those living with grief, Christmas, the “happiest time of the year,” can also be the saddest.

One way to cope is to attend a “Blue Christmas” service, an ecumenical worship where feelings of loss and grief can be acknowledged openly. While it is a subdued and quiet service, it also has a message of hope. It includes candle lighting, prayer, music, and a time to name those we have lost.

An ecumenical Blue Christmas Service for the public will be held Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 6 pm at the Waquoit Congregational Church, 15 Parsons Lane, Waquoit. Sponsors include Church of the Messiah, Christ Lutheran Church, First Congregational Church Falmouth, Mashpee Congregational Church, North Falmouth Congregational Church, and Upper Cape Chaplaincy.

Everyone is welcomed to attend.  For more information about the service, contact Rev. Nell Fields at 339-927-8972.
