Luminary Walk Held Wednesday, Nov. 1

Luminary Walk Held Wednesday, Nov. 1

In many cultures, lighting a candle or luminary is one way to remember the people we’ve lost in our lives. It is a visible reminder that we still remember them.

Every year, the Waquoit Church invites people to light candles in memory or in honor of their loved ones on All Saints Sunday. This year, the church will hold the event outside on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 4:30 pm and will use luminaries – paper bags with tea lights inside.  In case of rain, the event will be held inside parish hall.

People of all faiths are invited to attend and to light a luminary that will be placed on a path through the church grounds. Bags and lights will be available to the public at no charge. People are encouraged to write the names of their loved one on the outside of the bag so the names can be seen in the glow of the candle light.

If people want to light a luminary and cannot attend, call or email the church and we will set up a luminary for you.

Waquoit Church is located at 15 Parsons Lane at the corner of Route 28 in E. Falmouth. For more information, call the church at 508-548-5269.
